Holly Cat Joined the Family in 2023

Holly is Chloe’s successor and the only living cat with us now. She came to live with us in December 2023 and was about five and a half years old at the time. She is another alumna of Citizens for Humane Action.

Holly’s first order of business involved exploring.

But she also spent a lot of time under the bed.

Initially Holly claimed me as her bed, but this faded and she began sleeping on me only at night by the end of her first year here.

Often I got the other end of the cat in my face.

She discovered Kitty TV, but she becomes bored quickly. This is the case with all toys and games. After enjoying it for a week or two, she ignores whatever new items we’ve shown her. Sometimes showing it to her again in a few weeks rekindles her interest.

But she never loses interest in kitty treats.

Such an angelic kitty.

She began to trust me most of the time, but after befriending Phyllis at Citizens for Humane Action, Holly hides from her at home.

Sometimes I get this part of the cat.

Kitty TV again.

And she enjoyed toy mice for a while, but now chases them only occasionally and usually at 3am.

Unbelievably cool Holly.

She played with the balls continuously for a week or two, but now generally ignores the toy.

Back to Kitty TV.

She enjoyed finding treats under mice for a while.

Meh.

Having Kitty TV up close was amusing for a while.

Boredom.

But occasionally ....

One of Holly’s favorite activities is sleeping.

She also discovered that she likes the brush.

Holly does not like the kitty bus, particularly after going for a ride to have a tooth pulled.

Sometimes she just keeps an eye on me.

And occasionally she resumes her exploration. We think she does most of this at night when the humans can’t see her.

Holly is entirely unimpressed by boxes.

But she does keep coming back to Kitty TV.
