Editing
If you know what you want to say, but you're not quite sure how to say it, you need an editor.
It's easy to write far too much. It's equally easy to leave out a critical point. As an editor, I watch for these kinds of problems. Oh, sure, I watch for spelling and grammar problems, too, but my main concern is that the final product will communicate with readers.
Attention spans are short on the Web. Some visitors may give your website only 15 seconds to prove that it can provide the information they need. If the site is disorganized or the writing is hard to follow, they'll click away.
If you'd like to have a website that reaches out to visitors, send me an e-mail and I'll get right back to you. The monthly newsletter
Clients receive a monthly newsletter by e-mail. That newsletter is available on-line, too. Topics range from website management to spam prevention, with occasional looks at the future of technology. Past issues are in the archive.
Philosophical essays
Occasionally I write a philosophical piece. The topics are eclectic, to say the least. You may even find that one point of view is diametrically opposed to another. The articles are in the vault.

Editing must be thorough and precise, but it need not be demeaning. A good friend, who is also an editor, refers to editors as "professional idiots". It's our job to misunderstand everything that can be misunderstood and then fix it.
